Sebastian first worked extensively as a dancer for the likes of Madonna, Prince, Vanessa Williams, Toni Braxton and Tina Turner on many awards shows. He was a featured dancer in the films Sister Act 2, Boogie Knights, Scream 2, Lord of Illusions, Eraser, Showgirls, The Producers and Chicago. He worked on Broadway in the revival of Once Upon a Mattress, Minnelli on Minnelli, Chicago and broke out of the ensemble with his first starring role as Rocky in the TONY-nominated revival of The Rocky Horror Show.
As an actor he moved into commercials, with national spots for Lowes, Pilsbury and Electrolux. In regional theater he starred as Darren Lemming in Take Me Out. He proved he was a triple threat playing Marco in the Kennedy Center’s Production of Carnival, Steven Kodaly in, She Loves Me and El Gallo, in The Fantastiks, both at The Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. He also starred as Zach in first national tour of the A Chorus Line revival. With a focus on film and television he landed roles on Gossip Girl, Law and Order: SVU, All My Children, One Life To Live and the critically acclaimed Showtime series, Homeland. On the big screen, La Cause had small supporting roles in Showgirls, Ghost Town and Premium Rush (2012) and won larger supporting roles in Bear City, as Fernando and the upcoming Ira Sachs film, Keep The Lights ON, as Russ.
With Hustling, La Cause walks new ground as not only the show’s creator and writer but also as the director, star, and part-time directory of photography. Developing the show from idea to execution to post-production, La Cause learned new skills and stretched himself, creatively, as he navigated through challenges and obstacles as a first-time director and producer.
